I am trying to insert the DIA symbol in a note however when I pick the "Select Next Symbol" icon nothing happens. Any suggestions?

RE: DIA. Symbol in Drafting NX 7.5

Just type
<O>
and you will get the DIA symbol.

Best regards,

Michaël.

I know I could get a list of all the symbols but in NX5 there was icons that you could click to insert them into your notes. I'm just wondering why they elemintated that feature.

RE: DIA. Symbol in Drafting NX 7.5

In the section of the Note dialog labeled 'Text Input', under the widget where you enter your text string, expand the sub-section labeled 'Symbols' and from the list of 'Category' options, select 'Drafting' and you will get your palette of 'icons' (the Dia Symbol is second from the left on the bottom row).

Thanks John! I missed that little pull-down. I thought maybe there was a bug or something.

RE: DIA. Symbol in Drafting NX 7.5

Within a dialog, where we used to use 'tabs' for sub-sections, we are replacing that design with what's called a 'list box' when there are more than 3 or 4 options.  Of course you now have the option of replacing the list box, in most instances, by picking the last option in the 'list box' and showing instead a set of icons for the most commonly used options.  In the future, 'tabs' will generally be reserved for where we wish to have multiple pages in a single dialog, as you see in places like Preferences and Customer Defaults.
