nx 7.5 clearance hole table

nx 7.5 clearance hole table

nx 7.5 clearance hole table

Hi everyone
we are running nx 7.5, i would like to modify the clearance hole table.xml I would like to modify the counterbore depth to be a formula or an interpart expression in this table, is there a way to do this and does anyone have an example. we currently use an expression that we reference for our hole depths but everytime you change to a different screw size all the sizes revert back to whats in the table. any help would be great

RE: nx 7.5 clearance hole table

The table (.xml file) is not used in a manner which would permit the embedding of predefined expressions or relationships.

so I take it there is no way to do what i want from what you said, the help file says you can edit the table with expressions and formulas but it doesn't give any examples of it. Do you know of a way i can make the depth an expression or formula that it will always use

RE: nx 7.5 clearance hole table

What the Help referring to is that the table itself is made up of formulas and expressions, but only in the sense that these will be created when a hole feature is added to the model.  Once they are added, you can then assign them an expression name as a value if you wish.  Unfortunately, if you attempt to replace any of the 'values' in the table with expression names, when NX starts the system reads this table ONCE.  Since there are no parts open meaning that there are no expressions to read, the table can't find the referenced expression(s) and therefore it errors out and you get a warning that the counterbore depth has to be greater than zero (since it couldn't find your expression it assumed a value of zero).
