Looking for information on Norlog devices - Can you help?
(OP)
Dear all,
I hope you can help.
I am trying to repair an old part from a historic vehicle. It contains a number of English Electric Norlog encapsulated circuits. These are green plastic about 2.5cm each side and stand around 1cm high.
A fairly thorough websearch has revealled that they were largely manufactured at the Kidsgrove plant (Staffordshire, UK) and were used in many early computers and electronic devices. Manufacture seems to have been from around 1965-1980ish.
I have also got a few other old circuits with them on, but the part codes are all different, so I'm trying to find out the functionaility of each device type and what the codes mean on each unit.
Does anyone out there remeber these devices? Do you know how to decode the part references? Do you have any relevant data books or sheets?
Thank you in anticipation.

Half full - Half empty? I don't mind. It's what in it that counts.

The units I have has 8 Norlogs each, the ID codes are XZ, XZA, XZB or XZC. All are used as Comparitors, however I can't locate spares (hardly a big suprise). But I have been sent some Norlogs but these have other codes and I'm not sure if they will work, hence my request for information.
Having disected a unit that wasn't working there did seem to be a diode or transistor and some parts that might have been resistors, but I didn't see a reed relay (doesn't mean it wasn't there!).
