Hi All,

I'm trying to get a boss to sit in an impeller using an insert constraint which I can do.  However, although the boss stays within the impeller it still rotates freely around the central axis.  I've tried all manner of ways to stop this without success, what am I not doing correctly.  Can anyone offer a solution.

Best Rgds,
Dave R.

p.s.  Don't worry about the missing bolt, I transfered to file over from another computer and forgot to add it in.

RE: Fixing a Component - Inventor 2011

I didn't look at the files, but it sounds like you want a mate or angle constraint between planes of the two parts.

Hi imcjoek,

I went to bed still trying to work this out and woke up at around 4:00 am this morning with exactly the same answer.  It's 8:00 am here and I've just tried that and it works.  What an idiot not being able to pick up on such a simple thing.

Best Rgds,
Dave R
