HI All,
The exchanger that I am working on is built in 78. we are supplying exchanger less heads. Channels will be reused. My question is, do we have to design this unit using old alloable stresses or new. My understanding is if we are doing only part of the unit then anything that is built before 98 need to be run with old allowable stresses. Please clarify. Also, I need to know if the tubesheets for this unit need to be designed per TEMA or UHX.

Thanks.
