Hi All,
Can we use ANSI flanges as girth flanges for heat exchangers with more than one pass? Can you also specify where in code does it say whether we can or can not use ANSI flanges as girth flanges. Any help is appreciated.

RE: ANSI flanges as girth flanges

There is no where written in Section VIII-1 that you cannot use ASME Standard Flanges as girth flanges in Heat Exchangers, so you can use these flanges in required rating.

It also is not written that you CAN, but it is done all the time.
