Turning part - Turning Blank

Turning part - Turning Blank

Turning part - Turning Blank

(OP)
Using Nx6

Hi
Ive used turning quite extensivly but have never used the 3d model option of creating the turning_workpiece section using stage sketches instead.

Im now looking into option of using Forging scanned facetted body (with  side bosses) as my blank and Stage 3d model as my turning profile.
I know that the turning profile will be generated from the 3d model but cant seen to get it to auto generate for the blank.
I have 2 questions,

1. Is it possible to use a model for auto generating turning Blank?

2. Would it be possible to show an acurate final turning component
ie remaining forged part with the turning completed?

I know I could represent the final part required if I use milling process to replicate the turning operations and saving IPW but would be better if I could avoid this extra process.

Thanks
