Hide command to all user

Hi,
we are under TC and we have the 'Database attribute' command.
We have implemented a mask to use in drafting to compile our drafting that compile automatically part attribute that drafting attribute.
It's possible to hide to all NX users the 'Database attribute' command, avoid that users add different words from what we have decided ?

Thank you...

Using NX 7.0.1.7 MP3 and TC8.1

RE: Hide command to all user

I don't run TeamCenter so I've never messed with Database Attributes, but if this dialog is activated either from a toolbar icon or and item on a drop-down menu, you could use Customize to remove the toolbar icon and/or the menu item.  If you can't find either of those and there was no keyboard shortcut to activate it, then the user will not be able to open that dialog.

Hi John,
customization toolbar is not centralized, so each user can have different toolbar.

But you can override that by forcing all the systems to point to a common .mtx file and you could go even further then remove the customize menu item as well as all of the pre-defined roles.  This way they would be pretty well stuck with what they see when NX starts.

Hi John,
sorry for the delay.
Our policy is to permit users to customize the layout and toolbar in NX.

Then your only approach will be edit the menu file to remove the item(s) which you do not want the average user to see.  You don't have to actually edit the menu files on the system, just create a menuscript file which will remove the unwanted menu items and place this menu script in the startup folder for your users.  If you open the NX Help files and search on "Menuscript" you will find information on how to use them to add, modify, remove menu items from pull-down menus.
