Converting a Solid Works "Assembly" into a "Solid Model"
Converting a Solid Works "Assembly" into a "Solid Model"
(OP)
Hey,
Im new to the site so excuse me if I am not following the correct protocol. I just finished my assembly drawing of a full casting, runner, sprue etc. Unfortunately I neglected to realize that in order to run the simulation software I need it to be one solid model. Is there an easy way to alter the assembly without redoing everything??

If the simulation software does not recognize multi-bodies, you may have to use the Combine tool to merge bodies.

The only two that look close are:
"Computational Optimization of Small Molecular Structures"
"Computer Oriented System for Manufacturing Order Synthesis"
Or, it may not be an acronym? You may need to write to SolidWorks and ask them.

I have another question. I am using the simulation software Quikcast. After I save the "model" as a .sldprt I need to convert it to a .stl to run on the simulation software. When I try to convert the model to the .stl it states that my part geometry is not correct to convert. The actual geometry is irrelevant because I tried a variety of models. How can I get around this?
