Pipe manufacturing according to ASME codes

Hello every one

Seamless steel pipes are manufactured according to ASME section II Part A. is there any special requirement given in ASMA section I or any other section of ASME code for pipe manufacturing. as far as I know steel pipes are manufactured according to section II Part A and ASME section I refers section 2 part A for pipe specification. Am I right? If not please tell me what are the requirements of ASME section I for seamless pipe manufacturing.

Kind Regards
Zebmahar

RE: Pipe manufacturing according to ASME codes

zebmahar;
You are correct. ASME Code of Construction book sections like Section I, IV, VIII, and XII refer to material use and limitations associated with use in design, but do not provide guidance for specific manufacturing processes or requirements.

One more question, as the seamless pipes are manufactured from round steel bar called billet and is it written in any of the ASME sections that seamless pipes can only be produced from dia 4" billet.
Hoping for prompt response
