Text from SolidWorks to Catia?

Does anyone know if it is possible to import text and goemetry from SolidWorks 2010 SP4.0 into Catia V5?

RE: Text from SolidWorks to Catia?

If you want to create 3D text in CATIA, you can use a macro (available free in different forums on net).

If you want geometry with "history" you need a specialized CAD converter.

RE: Text from SolidWorks to Catia?

Our local SolidsWorks rep told us there is a new capability in
SW to tranfer/import CATIA data directly into SW. (not sure which release).

There is not a similar capability in CATIA to do the same with SW data.  (although this might be possible in the future, according to our local CATIA rep)

RE: Text from SolidWorks to Catia?

I've seen that 3D text is available in V6 but I haven't seen anything yet for V5.

To edgrays original question... no I haven't seen or heard anything, guessing that will be the case until SW goes away from the parasolid kernel. Maybe step with feature recognition could work?
