Pressure Vessel from HDPE?

Pressure Vessel from HDPE?

Pressure Vessel from HDPE?

(OP)
Sorry for not being an Engineer, however I figure this is the best place to get a good answer :)

Are there companies in the US that have the ability to fabricate a PV from HDPE?  Talking about 3 to 5 bar pressure, gas only (inert) AND have a removable or latched head for ease of getting product in and out of PV.

Thanks in advance!!  I'm trying to sort out if it is possible and where to begin a query of firms that have the capability.

RE: Pressure Vessel from HDPE?

I am not in the USA. Could you describe the item as a pipe and design it to the piping code?

Alternatively there are international standards for GRP vessels and they are used in the petrochem industry.

RE: Pressure Vessel from HDPE?

Doesn't sound like a good idea- compressible gas in a plastic PV using a material that constantly creeps and is very sensitive to temperature - but if it meets asme sect VIII crieria then theoretically one could do it.

PE lined steel vessels are used in the petrochem industry.
