What's the definition of "Transformer Bank"?

What's the definition of "Transformer Bank"?

What's the definition of "Transformer Bank"?

(OP)
In my company, all Bank # = Transformer # = Unit #, except one pair (which have same Bank # but different Transformer #).

RE: What's the definition of "Transformer Bank"?

I think of a 'bank' as a group of single phase transformers connected to provide the same function (step up/down, phase shift) that a single multiphase unit (most often three phase) in one enclosure (tank) provides.

RE: What's the definition of "Transformer Bank"?

The naming convention varies company by company.  Always ask if it is a 3 single phase units or a 3-phase unit.

Bank might refer to the group of 3 phases, or group of 3 windings.  Some people call the transformer main secondary breaker the "Bank Breaker"

RE: What's the definition of "Transformer Bank"?

I have always heard "Bank" used to refer to a set of transformers. Mostly single phase transformers used to provide three phase power transformation.
