Dear All

kindly i request you to clarify what is meaning each type of the following curve of pumps and  :
1- Quadratic
2- Cubic
3- Smooth

if available any example for these curves , kindly attache

You should also ask about really really steep curves, really really flat curves and very droopy curves then everything relating to pump curves will be covered.  

It is a capital mistake to theorise before one has data. Insensibly one begins to twist facts to suit theories, instead of theories to suit facts. (Sherlock Holmes - A Scandal in Bohemia.)

The curve fitting techniques you list are general techniques that can be applied to any data set, not specifically pump performance curves.

I'd suggest you use google to search for information about the mathematics behind each method.  For example a decent explanation of smooth splines is here:

If after reading and understanding the theories, you have a question specific to their application to pump performance curves, then come back and ask.

Of the fits proposed, I tend to favour the purely quadratic because it probably comes "close enough" and you can center the vertex on the ordinate to ensure continuous rise to shutoff - unless you specifically want to model the droop in that vicinity.

It depends how accurate you need to be.
