Selecting Hidden Lines in a Sketch

Selecting Hidden Lines in a Sketch

Selecting Hidden Lines in a Sketch

(OP)
I'm new to SW 2011 from SE and in the Sketch environment, I'm trying to set a tangential relationship between my sketch - a circle, and a hidden line inside of the part (Hidden lines is turned on). I press CTRL and select the circle, but SW cannot seem to select the hidden line. The video tutorial, Suggests that it is possible but SW keeps selecting the face of the part and not the hidden line inside of it.

In SE a little menu appears of all selectable entities - so this is quite easy to do. What am I doing wrong? is there some setting to make hidden lines active?

Can anyone help? This is an important albeit simple functionality which I need to use. Thanks!

Tools > Options > System Options > Display/Selection --- Selection of hidden edges

I find it easier to keep the Wireframe and HLV option selected, and simply change the viewing mode in the Heads Up toolbar (top of screen) to allow selection of "hidden" elements.

Thanks, but I have found the problem: There are settings under options --> display/viewing

"Allow selection in wireframe and HLV modes"
"Allow selection in HLR and shaded modes"

These need to be checked to enable the selection of hidden edges.
