CTs for Compact Space

CTs for Compact Space

CTs for Compact Space

(OP)
I am working on a retrofit for 480 Cutler Hammer switchgear where the width of each section is 21". I have to install CTs and I need window type 3000/5A relaying CTs which can be placed side by side. Can anyone suggest me CTs with small dimensions and suitable window size (max. 3 inches) for such use.

RE: CTs for Compact Space

Due to the space constraints you're facing, it is not an uncommon practice with low voltage gear to forgo the traditional location of the CT's and to put two CT's on one side of the breaker (phase 1 & 3) and the remaining CT on the other side.

Another approach is to locate the CT's int eh space behind the breaker cubicle where the CT's can be staggered to fit.

Either of these might be easier than finding an oddball sized CT.
