Dynamic V8 Filters

Dynamic V8 Filters

Dynamic V8 Filters

(OP)
Does anyone have any experience with the Dynaic V8 filters that use electrstatic technology. Their claim to fame is the useage at ASHRAE headquarters but does anyone have expaerience with this product on 100% OA systems?

RE: Dynamic V8 Filters

I assume this is for a lab or classified space, I'm familiar with DynamicAir electrostat filters, but I typically would just use HEPAs due to the complexity factor for the maintenance staff.  Electrostat filters are becoming more widely used however, so go for it if you like them.

RE: Dynamic V8 Filters

I've used Dynmaic electrostatic filters and they have performed well for 2 years now.
I have seen a TAB report substantiating the listed pressure drop (o.6" W.G.), not bad, compared to a 95%/plus 30% pre-filter (1.3" SP).

The biggest advantage I see is that they can help a lot for large CFM units, especially when you're in borderline Fan BHP with cartidge filters (say 32 BHP Fan required with 95% filters) can go lowered to 28 BHP using Dynamic filters, meaning that a 30 HP will do the job instead of a 40HP.

They can come handy for ASHRAE 90.1 max fan HP/CFM compliance.

RE: Dynamic V8 Filters

I am not familiar with DynamicAir electrostatic filters but recently refurbed a building with 20 year old electrostatic filters which were still perfect with minimal maintenance over the years.  These filters were installed on an outside air AHU with deep bag prefilters before the electrostatic filters.

RE: Dynamic V8 Filters

If they say that ASHRAE used this product, then it would be a good reason to not use it
