Diameter symbol in text

Hi all,

I always thought <o> was the diameter sign but it doesn't appear to work in Insert-curve-text

Am I missing something as I need the dia symbol :)

Thanks in advance

RE: Diameter symbol in text

You should be able to use <O>, or $r

NX 6.0.5.3 (NX 8 Beta)
Windows XP32

Neither of them seem to work :( It's fine when adding a note in drafting but I need the symbol to be on the model in modelling (Insert-curve-text) :(

Any further thoughts very much appreciated.

RE: Diameter symbol in text

Try the key sequence "Alt 0216", this works with the Arial font.

For other useful symbols, look in the character map for the font you are using.

RE: Diameter symbol in text

Try opening the Windows 'Character Map' dialog, selecting the desired font and then do a 'Copy & Paste' of the needed character(s) from there into the NX 'Text' dialog.

To an Engineer, the glass is twice as big as it needs to be.

RE: Diameter symbol in text

I should have elaborated on the key sequence; while in the text input box hold down the alt key and press 0216 then release the alt key. Or, find the desired character in the character map utility (provided with Windows) then copy and paste the character into the text input box in NX.
