UGS solutions search annoyance

UGS solutions search annoyance

UGS solutions search annoyance

(OP)
When I search for solutions in the Siemens Support site,

http://uganswer.ugs.com/qcksrch.stm or
http://uganswer.ugs.com/default.stm

which takes me to the following website:

http://uganswer.ugs.com/search97cgi/s97_cgi.exe

If you observe, the url ends in .exe extension (i.e. s97_cgi.exe). Since it is an EXE (although the information displayed in an unblocked page is all text!), so this site is automatically Blocked by our company IT policies. Hope .exe urls are blocked in other organizations also.

It will be better, if Simens' Solutions Search url ends with any other extension other than .exe

RE: UGS solutions search annoyance

No one from Siemens IT is reading this forum so if you wish to get this changed, I suggest that you contact GTAC and let them know how this situation is causing you problems.

Well, I can directly contact GTAC, that will be next thing I will be doing. Since this problem was related to NX and Teamcenter (like most of NX software related issues), and that the other NX users might be facing this problem, I posted this problem in this forum.

RE: UGS solutions search annoyance

No, that's fine, but I just wanted to make sure that this gets resolved, and the best course of action for that would be to contact GTAC since that group is responsible for the 'UGAnswer' database.

RE: UGS solutions search annoyance

I have run into this very same thing!  I found if I use the advanced search option I can get in.
