My boss has asked me to look up information about "there is a rock anchor system which is used where the towers are erected  where there is no top soil." I have never heard about this being done before and can't seem to find any information about it on the web. Has anyone had experience with this or can point me in the right direction?

RE: wind turbine foundation

A little bit more information would be useful.

Sounds like a rock anchor to me.

well ya it is rock anchor and i know about traditional rock anchor foundation types which i made a note about for him, however he replied with the sentence in quotations which makes me think there is some type of rock anchor where there is no soil or earth needed? maybe a cap is laid right on top of the rock being anchored into. If your confused by this post.., well I'm just as confused as you are :P I'd ask my boss but he isn't in today and this is at the top of my things to do.
