DCP vs. Young Modulus

DCP vs. Young Modulus

DCP vs. Young Modulus

(OP)
Hi guys,

By any chance, would anyone have any ideas on estimating an effective value of Young's modulus from DCP results?

I've come across some relationships between SPT and Young's modulus, but can't seem to find anything linking DCP to E`.

Any guidance greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

RE: DCP vs. Young Modulus

Here we go again - please give definition of YOUR DCP.  There are a number of different systems out there all calling themselves DCP.  In Canada - 50 mm 60deg cone attached to A-rod driven by 65 kg hammer dropping 750 mm; there is the miniature DCP developed by the British (TTRL) used in road investigations; there is Sowers DCP - a bit in between . . .

RE: DCP vs. Young Modulus

multiply by 7, (or is it 11?).

RE: DCP vs. Young Modulus

fattdad - again, it depends on the type of DCP - but why not multiply by 8.5?

RE: DCP vs. Young Modulus

Ha!  Yeah, 8.5
