Export and assembly as a IGES, need individual parts

(OP)
Hi All,

I am looking to take a large assembly and export it as an IGES file, but also it needs to export out each individual part of the assembly. Cna this be done?

Thanks!

Joel

Why iges for a solid model?
Better with Parasolid or STEP.

Where would we be without sat-nav?

it needs to be opened in Inventor when saved out. And it needs to be an assembly when it imported into Inventor instead of one massive solid.

I did a test with saving the assembly out as a parasolid and then imported it back into Solid Edge. I selected an assembly and then it created all of the parts as well as the assembly. is this the corect way to do it?

That's how it works - each part is saved as a new model, regardless of how many times its used.
How it goes into Inventor will depend on how Inventor deals with Parasolids.
I would give a STEP and Parasolid, that way you should be covered.

Parasolid worked perfectly for the conversion. Thanks again for your help! You are my Solid Edge Master!! lol...
