communication,leadership and interpersonal-skills courses

(OP)
I am moving to management/leadership role and I need to have more training on the subject matter. I live in Toronto, Canada and am looking for an institute (private/college/university) that offers these courses.
I appreciate any feedbacks on training institutes who offer these courses.

RE: communication,leadership and interpersonal-skills courses

Why not start reading some books?  I'd suggest you concentrate on a single topic at first.  Or related topics like communication and interpersonal skills.

One of my favorites is Nonviolent Communication.  They have a website where you can review the schedule of seminars.  I tried to find Toronto, then Ontario, and then Canada and came up with nothing.  But there are basic Business skills classes taught as 2-day courses in Oklahoma City, OK.  If you have no idea of the concepts of NVC, I'd suggest reading about it first, then checking out DVD's at the library.

Here is the schedule for their courses.  Before you sign up for a class, make sure it is something you want to do by doing the groundwork on your own first.

Congrats on the promotion. I would suggest that you save your money and time unless your employer is paying for you to go. In my opionion what you need is a mentor, which I'm willing to bet you already have one in the person who is responsible for your promotion. Think back to all the good managers and the bad managers that you have had in your career. This will be your guide on how to conduct yourself and over time you will start to feel comfortable in the position as you succeed.

Whether you get formal training or not, I'd recommend reading How To Win Friends And Influence People by Dale Carnegie, a timeless classic.
