Strong Rubber to protect Wire - Suggestion

pkerrigan21 (Materials)

Hey guys,

I am looking for a type of material that would protect a 1/4 inch think copper wire from breaking or bending if a car were to drive over it.

Basically the copper wire would be underneath this rubber type material.  the material needs to flexible so it can roll up.

i was looking for a rather inexpensive type of organic rubber that would be able to stand that kind of force without breaking the copper wiring.

Any Ideas?

The usual solution is to duct-tape two 2x4's to the cable. Works pretty well for a temporary solution. Or you can Google "rubber cable protectors" and find plenty of products.
