component is reference only in specification

When using master model approach and i want to create a specification, i only get a reference only component in the assembly navigator. Where can i change this to fully loaded component as in assemblies.

NX 7.5.

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,

Michaël.

RE: component is reference only in specification

Can you add some more information about "reference only", - how do you tell that it is reference only ? ( screendump ?)

I can see this in two places, first by the symbol in the part navigator and second in properties.
The strange thing is that this is not the case with assemblies, whereby i'm allowed to change these setting where in drafting these settings are blocked.  But i can't find anything in customer defaults and i also can't find it in preferences in my seed part.

Thanks.

Best regards,

Michaël.

RE: component is reference only in specification

To my knowledge this state cannot be changed. (?)
It occurs if you create a drawing and in the place view dialog select some other part than the master part in the upper window. - In earlier versions of NX it was called "Add view from Part".

That was my first thought also, but i'm creating a specification of a part where i use the master part in the spec, so it should be OK but its not?

RE: component is reference only in specification

I think that it is OK anyway. I don't know of any problems using this kind of "component" apart that it is invisible if you in the drawing part switch to modeling, and, - I think that it will not report in a partslist on the drawing ...

Can you add another base view and then see a "regular" component added in the Assembly navigator ? - Can you then replace the views created using the reference with the regular ?
