Estimating oil density at operating temperature and pressure

Estimating oil density at operating temperature and pressure

Estimating oil density at operating temperature and pressure

(OP)
API gravity at standard conditions is known.  Is there an easy way to estimate the gravity/density at operating conditions.  In the range of -5 to 60 degree C and 250 to 5000 kPa.

Thanks.

RE: Estimating oil density at operating temperature and pressure

There are many nomograms and curvers around in text book API and similar reference book. Just look/search/buy. These may not be very precise for your specific crude - but check out the assumptions and limitations yourself.

Best regards

Morten

All calculations are defined in the Manual or Petroleum Measurement Standards Chapter 11.
You can buy the chapter individually.
