swdocumentmgr.dll

It appears that this file is hooking into explorer.exe when running a file search from the file open window and that causes SW to crash out without warning. Strangely enough it also crashes when do a file search from an open file explorer window as well.

I've tried repairing, re-installing, but it still crashes.
So, any hints?

SPR #: 597198 has been issued
for this problem, but the suggested
fix doesn't work for everybody.

Is anyone else seeing this problem?

RE: swdocumentmgr.dll

This problem has been driving me nuts, and I've tried many things to solve it before finally finding the following solution.  I don't use any features that the .dll supports (more like enforces on the system), so.. UNREGISTER the .dll.

Re this page:
http://help.solidworks.com/2011/English/api/swdocmgrapi/SolidWorks.Interop.swdocumentmgr_GettingStartedSWDocMgrAPI.html

- run this on the command line:
regsvr32  /u "C:\Program Files\Common Files\SolidWorks Shared\SwDocumentMgr.dll"

Fixed.
