File reference problem

File reference problem

File reference problem

(OP)
I am trying to open some drawings in SW 2010. The drawing views are coming up as dotted outlines. I changed the reference path to the correct folder. I put all assemblies and parts in the same folder with the drawings. When I right click  on 'Drawing View 1' and click ' Open Assembly....' It says 'Cannot find...' but it shows that part or assembly in a drive that is not even on my computer. I received the files from another computer. When I did go about and find the correct file, I still get nothing.

RE: File reference problem

Before opening the drawing, just select it in the File > Open window, then click the References button at the bottom RH corner. Double-click a component and browse to the required file. Repeat as required. Select OK and then open the drawing and save.
