Please let me know is there any quick method for brining the temperature down below 0 C of carbon steel pipe specimen for Charpy Impact Test.

For temperatures about -20°C we use a ethanol bath in a normal refrigiator (but takes quit long to cool it down.).
for temperatures up to -50°C we use dry ice (carbon dioxide) in combination with the ethanol bath (works quiet quick) and for temperatur up to -196°C we use liquid nitrogen bath for the speciemens.

BTW, -196C temperature was specified for SS Charpy testing because it conveniently coincides with the boiling point of nitrogen.
