CUTLIST QUESTION

CUTLIST QUESTION

CUTLIST QUESTION

(OP)
So I have been playing around with cutlists and using the detailed cutlist inside of a BOM. What I made was a cabinet and the BOM numbers it 1 then each part is 1.1,1.2... My question is how can I have the indented parts have a name i.e back, door...? Right now I have to double click the row and add the name but it brings up a box and says its no longer parametric. Also is there a way to rearrange the cutlist folders in the design tree to be in a specific order so that when I insert the BOM the parts are in the order I want without having to do it manually every time. I am working on a catalog of hundreds of parts so if I can get these items to work the way I want it would save me days in work. Thank you. I tried searching but couldn't find anything on this exact topic but in searching learned a few new tricks.

RE: CUTLIST QUESTION

Right click on your cut list icon in the part tree, and update it. It will group into folders, you can right-click on each folder and go to its Properties. There you can enter a name in the Description field (or create it if it isn't already)

When you import a BOM it should have a description field by default. Remember you can always make your own bom template and include any custom fields you wish to use that you put into the cut list properties.

You can easily re-arrange them by dragging the row header, then click and hold and drag, you should see an arrow icon pop-up. Can't say how this will hold up when part changes are introduced.

RE: CUTLIST QUESTION

To clarify, easily re-arranging them seems to be possibly only on the drawing (or assembly) bom, not in the feature tree of the part.

RE: CUTLIST QUESTION

Kevin You can re-arrange as long as part #3 now in tree (and you want to put it in ahead of #2) is not dependent on dimensions, ect
to previous # parts.
