It there a simple way to mass update/save all our old SolidWorks files to the newest version without opening, rebuilding, and then re-saving them?

I ask because the sustaining engineering department at the company I work for feels that some of the issues/errors they encounter, when opening some of our SW assemblies that have old parts, occur because the part hasn't been updated to the newest version.

RE: SW Assembly and Part file updates

Use the Start > All Programs > SolidWorks 2011 > SolidWorks Tools > SolidWorks Task Scheduler > Convert Files application.

Conversion can be slow, and will tie up a computer, so run it overnight, or over the weekend, or on as as needed basis. Depends on quantity of documents. You could also use several computers to convert different directories.
