Journal Function? NX automation help/suggestions?

Journal Function? NX automation help/suggestions?

Journal Function? NX automation help/suggestions?

(OP)
Hello,

I am trying to create either a VB program or a NX journal to automatically create a solid body based on some user filled forms.  It is similar to the part family feature, but unfortunately there are too many features to make that method work.

I would like to create a solid based on 6 connected cylinders(journals)  each with up to 17 different features either across the face of the journal or as end conditions where 2 cylinders meet.  Each feature has its own defining dimensions that need to be defined by the user.  In short, a form for manually filling in the defining dimensions of the solid.

Is there a best method for this or a suggested method for things that will always have a similar form, but are too large and varied for a part family?

Thank you,

I am not exactly sure, but would a UDF (User Defined Feature) work?
