Animation- Assembly Rotation

Animation- Assembly Rotation

Animation- Assembly Rotation

(OP)
Hi,

I am currently trying to rotate an entire assembly about its center point.

I know the default animation wizard can do this by rotating the camera 360 degrees around the model in its current view.

But what I want to do is rotate the assembly as if its on a turntable, not the camera, this way I can maintain the selected view and when I render it not get the dark areas of the light box spoiling the effect.

I've tried using the motor function but I get messy results, this seems like a standard thing I should be able to do.

Any help would be much appreciated.

RE: Animation- Assembly Rotation

Make sure that 'lock to model' is unselected under Light Position in the light properties. This should keep the light from moving with the assembly.

Actually there's another software called Packmage can do the work even better with easy operation.

Thank you for the advice, I ended up putting the assembly, in another assembly and rotating it around a tiny cylinder I made, using the Motor function.

So now I have the rotation motion, but for some reason Solidworks has decided to add a ramp up and ramp down speed to the rotation, so I cant have a short 10 sec clip of a full rotation on loop and have it look smooth.

Why does Solidworks make everything so difficult! There are no option(visible anyhow) when making the Motor motion to remove or add this feature.

Driving me crazy, something I would have done in a couple of mins in Rhinoceros-Bongo.
