Massachusetts Peer Review

Massachusetts Peer Review

Massachusetts Peer Review

(OP)
I understand Massachusetts requires an engineering peer review for certain projects but that is the extent of my knowledge on this requirement.  Does anyone have a link or more information about any state specific requirements or standards for this process?  For example do they require a "thorough" review such as if I were performing the design myself and then comparing the results or just a review of loads and codes and a representative sample of some of the members?

RE: Massachusetts Peer Review

It has been several years since I have completed a project in MA.  But when I did, all we provided were the structural drawings to the 3rd party reviewer.  They would then complete what many would considered a QA/QC review (like what most firms do internally).  I was never required to submit design calculations.

The reviewer would provide a list of comments.  And we would then have to respond, ie explain our design if an item was questioned.  Thier comments and our responses would then be delievered to the BO.

Thank you for the responses.  They were very helpful.
