Qualify SB283 at 425 F in the BPVC

Qualify SB283 at 425 F in the BPVC

I need to qualify using SB283 C37700 as acceptable at 425 F using the BVC Sec VIII div 1.  How should I proceed doing this, if it is even possible.  The stress tables seem to limit me to 200 F.

RE: Qualify SB283 at 425 F in the BPVC

This would be under a Code Case. Review ASME B&PV Code, Section II.

RE: Qualify SB283 at 425 F in the BPVC

C37700 is limited to 200 F maximum. In order to increase the design allowable to 425 F, you will have to initiate and submit a Code Case defining the design allowable from 200 to 425F. You will need the support of the material's manufacturer(s). You should first consider the selection of an alternate material unless C37700 is the only material which can meet the service. And I do speak from experience.

Ok, I will look for an alternate.  Thank you for all your help.
