Exploded view problem

Exploded view problem

Exploded view problem

(OP)
Hi,
in the model environment of the specification I've create a named view and an exploded view with some exploded steps.
I've hidden some components with the command 'Hide component in view' in the exploded views toolbar.
At the finish I switched to the drafting specification environment and add the base view selecting the exploded view.
In the preview it was correct, but after positioning the view, all disappear.
Solutions ?

Thank you...

Using NX 7.0.1.7 MP3 and TC8.1

RE: Exploded view problem

You must create the Exploded View in the SAME file where the Drawing exists.

While it is true that it appears as if you can access the exploded view created in the Master Assembly model from the Drawing file, the actual data which defines the transformed locations of the various exploded components is not able to be copied from one file to another.  It's only valid and usable in the file where it was created.

John,
I know this rule and this what I do.
The Exploded View is in the SAME file where the Drawing exists.
In fact, the preview is correct, but after all disappear.

RE: Exploded view problem

I'm not sure if this is the cause of your problem, but I wouldn't use 'hide component in view' on the modeling view. Use it after your drawing view is placed and choose the drafting view.

Hi cowski,
I used this rule as you are mentioned because for make exploded steps I need to hide some component.
I will try to show all component in modeling specification with the  'Show component in view' in the exploded views toolbar.

Thank you...

Hi cowski,
you have right, there is a problem using 'hide component in view' on the modeling view.
I use the 'show component in view' in the specification to restore the view.

Anyway NX lacks very much on solutions for documentation.

1) For first I don't understand the reason to have create exploded view in the model environment of the specification, so if I need to do other specification I need to recreate.
It will be better to use exploded views in the master model part.

2) For second I found exploded view process for documentation very hard...
Midrange CAD (SolidWorks and Inventor)as the Siemens brand SolidEdge have better solutions or methods.

I will make an ER.

P.S:Do you make documentation (spare part list)?
If yes...which are in less row yours steps for make exploded views ?

Thank you...
