Cable Tray Clearance to Wall Requirement

Cable Tray Clearance to Wall Requirement

Cable Tray Clearance to Wall Requirement

(OP)
In Canadian Electrical Code it requires 600mm horizontal clearance between cable tray and wall (12-2200(6)), but in reality I've seen a lots installations that do not meet this requirement. Not sure what is the requirement in NEC, but I am wondering if anybody can explain if there are any other standards such as manufacturer recommended practice that deviate the code?

RE: Cable Tray Clearance to Wall Requirement

There is no specific NEC requirement. NEMA VE 2 is the manufacturers' recommended installation practice. You can get a free copy at http://www.cabletrays.com/.
