H2S Removal
H2S Removal
(OP)
I am trying to calculate how much air I should feed to release hydrogen sulfide from the sewage to the atmosphere (by the turbulence) in a small influent basin. How do I calculate the amount of air required to release all the existing H2S? Is there any retention time required?
I appreciate any help!

RE: H2S Removal
I did some work at a tannery that uses sodium sulfide as part of the tanning process. The sulfide is instantly oxidized to sulfate in the activated sludge process. The activated sludge process has an inherently large capcity to make the conversion to sulfate.
This can be proven by measurement of the sulfide in the effluent.
