Chunks of text missing on printed drawings

Chunks of text missing on printed drawings

Chunks of text missing on printed drawings

Never present when I check on SW, but when I print the finished drawing, very occasionally where I have text there is a potrion of it missing. I have a typical example in front of me now: A3 drawing, all text in the drawing is 3mm in height and one of the fold notes has the bottom 2/3 of text missing! Everything else is ok, and no lines either side of the part have been broken in line with the missing chunk. We use a laser printer, and although it's a dinosaur, everything else comes out ok, which points me toward a SW glitch?

Ideas welcomed...

RE: Chunks of text missing on printed drawings

If the SW print preview is OK but the print is wrong, that usually indicates the printer driver is the problem.

Interesting... The print previews are ok. It's so sporadic, that's what gets me! Will have a look at it.

If it is an old printer and you are on W7 you may have a printer driver failure. Check on that at the printer manufacturer site.

Honestly, I'm amazed it works at all... The label on the back says the thing was manufactured in 1996! The boss likes to get the most out of his kit haha!

I am on W7 (although everyone else is on XP) so will go down that avenue next. Thanks lads.

What are your computer specs?
It's also possible you may be out of memory while using SW.

I'm not really very good with computer spec's: I'm better at using them than understanding them, however, system info says:

Intel (R) Core i7-2600 CPU @3.4GHz, 8gb RAM.

I also know it's dual core. It's basically brand new... Circa 3 months old and was built specifically as a CAD workstation so I'll be amazed if it's that causing the issue. Also, I would actually be shot by the boss if I told him it was the new machine because I advised him to buy it!
