Composite Bridge Deck

Composite Bridge Deck

Composite Bridge Deck

(OP)
Hello,

I'm using Sap2000 to model a cable stayed bridge with a composite deck ( steel beams + concrete deck). I tried to model the composite beams using section designer. I selected as base material the steel and then on top of the steel beam i drawn a rectangular shape and selected Concrete material for it. I'm not satisfied by the results.
my 2 questions are :
Can i model composite beams using section designer? and how ?
Which would be the best method to model this type of deck. ?

 Much Thanks.

I think you should model the section with 0,0 at the centroid. And try with a few simple sections first before using a complex bridge girder section
