Direction of pull

Can someone give me a plain language explanation of how you determine direction of pull? I do not understand how the draft angle is suppose to work and which direction it needs to taper in.

Get two red keg cups and put them together. The outer one is your mold, the inner your part. Pull them apart. See how the taper works so that they don't get stuck together? Same basic principle. You want the taper of your mold such that the part can be removed without material interfering.

Got it!

RE: Direction of pull

That was CLASSIC! Perfect explanation, although I think you must be American, as I can only presume what a 'keg cup' is: in any American film with a party scene you all have the red plastic cups, right? I think there's a niche in a market somewhere as we don't have them in the UK!

RE: Direction of pull

I am American, and you're right about the cup too.

NICE X-plaination

They come in other colors as well. The red ones are probably just easier to see when under an influence.
