How to get 2D plane/slice data from a 3D simulation?

How to get 2D plane/slice data from a 3D simulation?

How to get 2D plane/slice data from a 3D simulation?

(OP)
Hi all,

I am new to this forum, I recently started using Abaqus. I am doing a 3D simulation, and I am interested in the results (Stress profile) in a number of 2D slices through that 3D object.

I am able to plot those slices with the View Cut manager. But how can I write a field output of the (interpolated) stress values in just that 2D plane cut through my 3D simulation?

Thanks
Harm

Would anyone know how to do this?

Isn't this a function of OpenGL? If so then I doubt if you can extract any values.

If you know the planes in advance then partition the object at those slices and create sets for those planes for output.

Thanks! I will look into it!
