Standard Electrical Box Dimensions

Standard Electrical Box Dimensions

Standard Electrical Box Dimensions

(OP)
Dear Folks;

I am designing an enclosure which must mount on standard square or octagonal electrical boxes, either ceiling or wall flush mounted. Does anyone know where the standard dimensions for North American electrical boxes can be found ?

Any help would be most appreciated

Adrian D.

RE: Standard Electrical Box Dimensions

I believe these are based on NEMA standards, but I don't know of an on-line source.  You might check with suppliers such as O-Z/Gedney (www.o-zgedney.com), or supply houses such as Graybar or Wesco.

There's always the local Home Depot

IR… You must be speaking of those fabulous, precisely trained, infinitely experienced Orange-Aproned Experts.

RE: Standard Electrical Box Dimensions

I also exhausted my search on the net for 1, 2 & 3 gang boxes to no avail. I guess the carpenters theory of 'give-or-take a 1/4" is good enough for them. ;)

If anyone has any further information... it would be greatly appreciated!

 In the mean time, if I find more info. Ill be sure to post it.
