(OP)
Having a little trouble remembering if this is possible without a lot of view dependent editing. It's been a few years since I've been on the tube. Now working in NX 7.5.

Basically I have a DWG package (usually around 20 sheets per package) the first 5-6 pages is the full assemebly views. But after that is the sub assembly views. How do I create a view with only the parts I want shown? View dependent edit would take forever with the amount of lines I need to get rid of to get down to the small sub assemblies. I tried hiding parts to create the view but it messed my other views up. And I don't see an option in the view creation to be able to select certian parts. Is this possible or a work around out there that dosen't require a bunch of view dependent editing?

Thanks!

RE: View editing

You could use Visible In View and segregate your components by layer.

RE: View editing

Use the command: 'show/hide components in view', the 2 complimentary commands can be found in the Assemblies -> context control menu. You select the view of interest then you can select components to hide.

Alternately you can import views from other components. It is an option in the newer releases that I have not used much yet. It may come with 'features' that are not useful for your workflow, though.
