I had been searching for Thomas Blalock's book about power transformer manufacturing and testing for many years. Unfortunately, only 200 copies were published. It is a treasure trove of information with many historic photos covering the 80 year history of transformer manufacturing.
I just discovered that the entire book is now available online at the IEEE Global History website. The online book is organized in three parts. Part 2 covering the High Voltage Testing Laboratory, 1939 World's Fair, and transformer testing. The three parts can be found here:

I heard about this book (Published 1997) some years back and tried to get a copy. Finally I got address of Blalock from his publishers.Problem went up as Blalock had no e-mail address (!) and he could be contacted only by snailmail. He was kind enough to sell me one of the balance copies available with him and I keep it as a treasure.Thomas has published several history gems in IEEE journals.
