Configurations not updating

Configurations not updating

(OP)
When I select "All Configurations" when assigning a part (the part comes in different lengths) in an assembly with multiple configurations, it doesn't update all of them.  I have to manually select each assembly configuration and repeat this process.  Is there a way around this?  And why does it give me the "All Configurations" option if it's not going to work?

RE: Configurations not updating

I have had the same issues on occasion. The attached macro will cycle thru and force rebuild each indivdual configuration.  This has always corrected any update issues I have had relating to configurations.  I got the macro from this forum, but I can't remember who to give credit for it.

RE: Configurations not updating

It sounds to me like you are experiencing a problem I have had in the past.

You can prevent this when you create a new configuration or if you right click on the configuration and go to "Properties". There are 4 checkboxes in the Property Manager-->Advanced Options window. Un-check all of them (the one concerning color doesn't matter). Do this for each configuration. This should prevent hidden child-parent relationships from developing and interfering with your intentions.

RE: Configurations not updating

I have had this problem in the past as well.  What version are you using.  My workaround involved choosing the option of "selected configurations" and then selecting them all.

I'm using SolidWorks 2011.  Thanks for the tips.
