Tolerances & Surface Conditions for Concrete Elements

Tolerances & Surface Conditions for Concrete Elements

Tolerances & Surface Conditions for Concrete Elements

(OP)
Hi all!

Any idea where I can find guides for Tolerances & Surface Conditions for Concrete Elements? I have checked with ACI 117
but I can't really find all the things I need.

I. Tolerances
 A. Flections
   a. Walls (vertical & horizontal)
   b. Slabs
   c. Columns
 B. Thickness
   a. Walls
   b. Slabs
   c. Columns
   b. Beams
 C. Angles
   a. Wall to Wall (Horizontal)
   b. Column Corners/Beam Corners
   c. Wall-Slab (Vertical)
 D. Alignments
   a. Local Alignment Deviation
   b. Global Alignment Deviation
II. Surface Conditions
 A. Honeycombs
   a. Depth
   b. Size
   c. Area
 B. Air Bubbles
   a. Depth
   b. Size
   c. Area
 C. Local Flatness
   a. Depth
   b. Size
   c. Area
 D. Stain & Discoloration

Among the list, I only get to find D. Alignments in ACI 117.

I hope you can help. Thank you very much...

RE: Tolerances & Surface Conditions for Concrete Elements

ACI 117 has constructed element tolerances, including thickness; however, as the designer, you establish most of the tolerances you want such as surface finish, flatness, staining, etc.

Put the tolerances you want in your specification.  Codes, standards, and recommended practices can't accommodate all conditions...that's why you, as the designer, must supplement with your own.
