Importing .DXF or .DWG File Issue...

Importing .DXF or .DWG File Issue...

Importing .DXF or .DWG File Issue...

(OP)
We are using NX7.5 and I recently received both a .DXF and a .DWG file (Of the same data.) from a supplier.  I can double click the attached file in from the email and it will open in Teamcenter Visualization Mockup 2007 displaying everything I need.  The problem arises when I actually import the .DXF or .DWG file into NX7.5 and all I get are just a small portion of the lines and annotation that displayed in Teamcenter Visualization Mockup 2007.

Does anyone have any clue as to what may be happening?  I make sure all the layers are on and that nothing is Hidden, but still incomplete data.  I have attached the file below.

The supplier had sent 2 additional .DWG files, of similar components, that imported correctly so I am baffled with this third file.

Thanks for your help in advance.

RE: Importing .DXF or .DWG File Issue...

Check views. The files may have view names that are diferent than what NX uses.

I checked all the views thinking some of the data might possibly be view dependent for some reason, no more data found.  Like I said, being able to view it in the TCE Mockup just throws me.

I just realized I had started another thread on this same issue, I apologize for the double threading.

This is still an issue that I would like to find a solution to though.

RE: Importing .DXF or .DWG File Issue...

Look for view #1, I think it is called.
The Acad views come in as user-defined views in NX.

The only custom views are: EXTRAVIEW1 thru 3 and #ACTIVE1

All of the above views contain the same data.

RE: Importing .DXF or .DWG File Issue...

#ACTIVE1 was the one I was thinking of. Did you make that your work view and remove all view dependent edits?

Just tried that and still no addtional data except what was already visible in the standard views.

I also find the entity count, in the Layer Settings, very low compared to what I would expect after viewing what should be available per the TCE Mockup program.

Thanks for the translation and help frankbe. Is it possible to import a .sat file into NX7.5 because I am unfamiliar with this file suffix.

Alright, I am nominating frankbe for the gold star award. Thank you for the .stp file and diagnosis of what was going on. The .stp file you created imported perfectly.

Thanks again for your time and help,
Gary

It may not be a gold star, but you can click the link that says "Thank frankbe for this valuable post!" to give him a purple star.
