Fiber direction in a structure

Fiber direction in a structure

Fiber direction in a structure

(OP)
Hi all,

When I go to preprocessor > section > shell > lay-up i specify for exampel that my ply would have fibers in 45 degrees direction, BUT I dont know where that direction is on my structure.

Is there any way that I can plot the fiber direction on my structure to see in which direction the fibers are oriented?

thanks

RE: Fiber direction in a structure

maybe your fibre direction isn't controlled (by your drawings specifying the orientation of the sheet when the piece is cut out) ?

with +/- 45 you could worry the detail in your FE (and model countless variations of fibre orientation), or say it comes out in the wash (ie, isn't significant) and model a direction of your choice.
