Retaining Wall Construction Method

Retaining Wall Construction Method

Retaining Wall Construction Method

(OP)
I have a 10m high reinforced concrete to be constructed.

The contractor wishes to pour in 1.2m high sections and backfill & compact both sides of the wall to simplify the formwork. The fill in front of the wall will then be excavated out when the wall is complete.

Anyone ever do this, what should I look out for?

I don't see any problem in theory, the reinfocement will be continuous and scabbling will be done before each pour.

RE: Retaining Wall Construction Method

Lots of messy construction joints in the face of the wall when it is all finished.  Is that acceptable?

Yes the wall is on a mining site, appearance don't matter
